And We're on a roll!

I have great news. I lunched the past few days of writing 1,000 ahead of schedule. With any luck this momentum will carry me till February. Also I really feel like my story is finally taking off.

I have posted my first blog post on the Webtastic word blast. On that same note I am thrilled to say that I now have 4 followers subscribed to my site. I will try to post more often.

and now for the real good news. The issue with my knee is mostly resolved. I can't walk on it for hours at a time, but i am capable of walking on it for a decent amount of time. Hopefully after the new year I will be completely better.

By the way. the winner of the contest is David Mecce: One Small Child.

I can't think of much to write. I'm more interested in working on my story right now.

do over! .... what do you mean we can't do that in the real world?

well we finally got our white christmas. Waited 1 years for it but I finally got it. We went out to take pictures, and learned that the sidewalks had frozen over. Well after slipping and sliding we got the hang of it and started enjoying ourselves.

Me and my siblings then went out again to go build a snowman but we quickly discovered that the snow was just too dry to even make a snowball, much less a snow man.after iving up we headed back inside.

That's when thins went wrong. I stepped down on a piece of loose ice, and it skidded out from under me. My knee was dislocated very quickly, and I went down hard in our alley. Within seconds i went to pop it back, and crawl back into our yard. I sat down near the edge of the alley and then waited as my siblings went to go get help. I realized though that if I stayed where i was I would be getting way too cold.

I got up and with the help of my siblings I got inside and propped up my knee. This was a terrible start to what turned out to be a great day. we went to go open the presents and I got a game-boy player, a spider man book, a new denim shirt, and best of all a new MP3 player to replace the one that had broken three days before.

We didn't get to go look at lights but we did spend time together and had a great day.

Today however has been a bit of a fallout. People have gone nuts with shopping and I'm still hurt. My laptop is constantly struggling with this virus. I think I finally got it beat but I'm not confident right now.

I am also starting up a new blog. A story blog to be specific. I don't have anything ready yet but i will soon. I will give an update when i'm ready.

The final day of my 25 days of Christmas

In ways I can't decribe I am delighted. I do hope that you all are as exited as I am.

I have to be honest with you all. I knew all along that there would not be a winner. I can't decide. Both of these songs are so good that i can't pick a clear cut winner.

now I give you the oprotunity to pick the winner. which is it?

Relient K - I celebrate the day

David Meece - One Small Child

Thought of the month: God gave us his only child. The most precious thing to him. He did this os that we could live with him as sinless people despite our fallen ways. We celebrate this day because it marks the beginning of the story, the most important story of all.

God's love for us.

Merry Christmas.

Winter nightmareland

Maybe it is stupidity maybe it stupidity, maybe it is insanity.I wouldn't know, but I ran outside really quickly to get snapshots of this winter disaster (miracle) in progress.

Enjoy the pics.

Day 24 of my 25 days of Christmas countdown.

The final two runner ups to tomorrows winner.

Kutless - Mary did you know

David Meece - We are the reason

David Meece - We Are the Reason from Adam Brewer on Vimeo.

Thought of the day: I have been really enjoying this. I am kinda saddened that it ends tomorrow. I hope that you all have been enjoying it as much as I have.

Merry Christmas

Day 23 of my 25 days of Christmas countdown.

Today we have an interesting couple of songs.

Relient K - Merry Christmas, Here's to Many More

One of the best on the album, and that's saying something.

Margret Becker - O come, O come, Emmanuel

The thought of the day: Read what you write before you publish it.

Day 22 of my 25 days of Christmas countdown.

Jars of Clay: Love came down at christmas.

Thought of the day: um, I'm thinking? oh yeah um.................................................chirp chirp ....................................... Um, I guess I would say that you should never start writing a post without anything on your mind.

Day 21 of my 25 days of Christmas countdown.

Hello once again. Today is Adoration by Newsboys.

Thought of the day: Today is less of a thought, and more of a question. What do you do for christmas sweets? We bake cookies, pies, Almond covered watermelon toes, Chocolate peanut butter balls, Chocolate covered pretzels, and Monkey heads.

Bonus, see if you can guess which ones we don't do.

Sunday, December 20, 2009

Day 20 of my 25 days of Christmas countdown.

Note: Today's song comes in two versions. White Heart, and Jars of clay. DO not be alarmed to see more than one song a day soon, as the greatest 7, are more like the greatest 8 or 9.

Thought of the day: Why are reindeer important? OK I understand most people do Santa Claus, but honestly even then you are kinda missing ANY point of christmas. Then again this is coming from the guy who doesn't like christmas trees, and put presents around the nativity.

Day 19 of my 25 days of Christmas countdown.

Thought of the day: this is it, the final seven. From now on I will post progressivly better songs till we get the best one ever on Dec 25th.

Day 18 of my 25 days of Christmas countdown.

Christ is come from Adam Brewer on Vimeo

Thought of the day: Do not upload to youtube, it is evil.  Try Vimeo instead.
On a more serious note I like cookies. Everyone has their own thing that they do at christmas, but for me it is Chocolate covered Peanut butter balls, and cookies. I love them a lot. Chocolate covered pretzals are good too, but not as good.

Day 17 of my 25 days of Christmas countdown.

Thought of the day: Traditions are one of those things that I personally think makes this season so great. However I must say that we have odd traditions. Like coming up with new lawn decorations such as ghost sheep and Yetis. No we have not actually put them up yet. Maybe next year.

Day 16 of my 25 days of Christmas countdown.

Thought of the day: This time of year it tends to be cold. Even here in Texas the mornings can be down in the twenties. It is generally not a good idea to go outside barefoot, and in a T-shirt. (for those of you with younger siblings: It is NOT ok to toss them outside in those conditions either.)

Day 15 of my 25 days of Christmas countdown.

Triple Play! You will get three renditions of the same song today.
Sorry for being late.
Reliant K

Jars of Clay

Mercy Me.... Please excuse the picture, and no he is not related.

Thought of the Day: Craigslist is the ultimate frugal person's way of getting someone that gift they have always wanted. I use it all the time, and it really helps. It also elps in getting rid of all of those items that you don't want anymore.

Amazon free christmas music

Everyone likes good music, but we don't always have the money. So today i will list a few of my favorite songs that are free on Amazon. Keep in mind they may shut off these promos soon so get them as fast as possible.

O come, O come, Emanuel - Big Daddy Weave

Joy to the world - Casting Crowns

I heard the bell on christmas day - Casting Crowns

Here there are two versions by the same band, but they are completely different.
God rest ye merry gentlemen - Jars of clay

I may add more soon, but this is what I could think of right now.

Things you overhear that you never expect.

"God's yeti might make real reindeer"
That is the latest one, but there have been others such as: "Don't throw the mug, it will kill the mushrooms." and epic ones like: "Kill everyone, but don't kill mommy."

Ever have moments like this? I do all the time. Tell me about some of the weird things you have overheard recently.

Day 14 of my 25 days of Christmas countdown.

Thought of the day: Little boys like action figures, but be prepared for insanity. Buddy now has a "rocket powered stinky Batman that was beaten up by a Ninja Jeep". I never do understand what they play, but it seems to boost their imaginations.

Sunday, December 13, 2009

Day 13 of my 25 days of Christmas countdown.

Thought of the day: This guy has a good voice, but this song makes me crazy. My dad loves it, but I don't..... who honestly says with a straight face "A child shivers in the cold. Let us bring him silver and gold." that line drives me MAD!

Other than that it is a good song.

Saturday, December 12, 2009

Day 12 of my 25 days of Christmas countdown.

Thought of the day: Remember why we celebrate christmas. We listen to our songs, some sing them. we buy gifts, and receive them, but the real point of christmas is celebrating the day our Lord and Savior was born

Friday, December 11, 2009

Day 11 of my 25 days of Christmas countdown.

Thought of the day: Gifts have this wonderful tendency of getting way out of hand. You have this desire to make the other person happy, and get them 6,523,178 gifts (may or may not be an exaggeration.) My mother who keeps coming up with these brilliant ideas came up with this dandy.

Limit of three presents from the parents, and one from any one particular sibling.
Considering the size of out family it still tends to get a bit out of hand, but another nice thing is that it keeps everything fairly even. Nobody is going to get an excessive number of gifts, and no one is going to get left out.

Day 10 of my 25 days of Christmas countdown.

Thought of the Day: I must repeat this as I don't seem to be getting it. DO NOT STRESS OUT AT THE HOLIDAYS!!! oops....

Wednesday, December 9, 2009

The suicide generation.

We humans have a tendency to want something we can’t get. Over the past few generation that has been eternal youth, and the dream of making that happen. Generations before it was infinite wisdom that comes with age.

Now people think that the younger you are the more wisdom you will have, and that wisdom is just lost with age. If that bit of absurdity was not enough I have been noticing a disturbing trend. The Desire for eternal youth has become more of a morbid desire to die before we grow old.

It was the natural evolution of this lifestyle. Once people finally realize that eternal life is impossible here on this planet, then they realize that their desire to never grow old can only be filled one way: to die before you get to fifty.
This sick and twisted logic is one of those things that you would think is a freak case, but I am noticing it to be a growing, and increasingly disturbing trend. It is only a matter of time before this becomes truly a popular philosophy.

We as Christians need to help these people realize the truth before it is too late, and to realize that growing old is not all bad. If our lives are cut off at fifty then we will never experience everything we were meant to experience. I don’t know exactly how to combat this sickness, but I do know that we as Christians need to pray for these lost souls, and try to lead them to the light in every way we can.

Day 9 of my 25 days of Christmas countdown.

Thought of the day: I'm bored, and I'm not fealing full of depth today. so how about this: don't do anything stupid, like decking the halls and bruising your hand.

let's see how many of you get THAT!

Tuesday, December 8, 2009

Day 8 of my 25 days of Christmas countdown.

This is hitting as one of my favorites. I love this rendition, but sadly it didn't make the top list because I wanted to show something truly great early on. despite getting put on the list early it is still a favorite.

Thought of the day: toddlers are ingenious people. They make the rest of us look like fools. Like the one currently swatting me for stealing his (my) laptop. make sure that if you use wrapping paper, to have double set back just in case he opens everything early.

A quick clarification

One I was meaning Gothic Heavy metal, referring to not just music but also lyrics. Heavy metal often, but not always has an angry, or hostile bent. I was specifically referring to Christian music using very little lyrically and everything musically

Two I AM willing to listen to a biblical argument, I said so already, but I want something definitive, not something that could be taken more than one way.

ALSO I check thing beyond more than one translation, and I thoroughly cover context before I agree. Tillie the last piece you gave me was a psalm, which was man written praising God, not God written rules on our lives.

I would again stress that it has little or nothing to do with the actual music, but the lyrics, and that is what i was referring to in most heavy metal. I will try to be more careful in the future about my terms

Day 7 of my 25 days of Christmas countdown.

Thought of the day: check your spelling and grammar, or your mother will mark it against you. ;-)
Actually today's thought is be joyful; plain and simple.

Sunday, December 6, 2009

If we were meant to be cookie cutter Christians, then we would be.

Recently I had a debate with a follower of Tessa's who calls herself Tillie. She claimed this:
There is no difference between christian rock, and Secular rock.

Her reason? The rhythm and tone of rock. Rock is intense, and passionate. It is not dry at all, but full of will. Her argument is that Rock makes you angry and feel aggressive.

On a note I would agree with her about heavy metal, but rock is NOT heavy metal. Heavy metal was created based on hate anger, and destruction. there are some christian heavy metal artists out there, but nothing positive and happy.

Christian rock on the other hand is very often positive, or if not it does deal with a heavy subject. I will not say that all rock is good, but that is more to do with the lyrics than the music. Secular rock on the other hand falls often into bad, or downright evil subjects. Not that it is the rhythm that is evil, but the lyrics.

Now let us look at the opposite end of the spectrum. I don't like hymns. In fact i hate almost every one of them. They are dry and often weak. It occurred to me not that the music was bad, but that it didn't speak to me.

God uses strange things to speak to people, Rock speaks to me, not all the time as I usually am more into Pop than Rock, but it does speak to me nonetheless. It doesn't to Tillie, and in fact makes her upset. That's fine, but that doesn't mean it is evil. The Bible doesn't say what type of music we should play, or even what types of instruments are allowed. there is a huge book of song's LYRICS that we can read. Some of them are good, but most of them yet again i don't enjoy. not my style.

Yet here we are having this conversation. Tillie says that all rock is evil, or at least used by the devil to deceive us all. I say it is a form of art that can either praise God, or be used to praise evil. Just as any art it is a tool. It is up to us how we use it.

In the mean time don't say that something is evil unless the bible explicitly bans that kind of behavior, and until I see something about rock that is explicitly banned in the bible I will continue to listen to it.

Day 6 of my 25 days of Christmas countdown.

Thought of the day: stress. It can be a happy time of year, or it can be miserable. try not to stress out to much, and do everything you are needed to do to help reduce the stress in others.

Day 5 of my 25 days of christmas countdown.

Thought of the day: Don't do anything huge on Christmas day. We went to go see The first Narnia movie the year it came out on Christmas, and we have regretted it ever since. We consider it a mistake to do too much on Christmas day, and so we do that sort of thing on Christmas Eve.

Friday, December 4, 2009

The Thought of the day: I don't like Christmas trees. We put our presents around our Nativity instead.

Thursday, December 3, 2009

Day 3 of my 25 days of christmas countdown.

ok this vid is somewhat disturbing, but it's the official music video

Thought of the day: don't steal stuff. tends to make people unhappy. Oh and use bags instead of wrapping. saves time and looks nice.

Wednesday, December 2, 2009

Day 2 of my 25 days of christmas countdown.

Thought of the day: It is snowing out! For that might not be exciting to some of you, but for us Texans this is a huge deal because it never snows this early in the year.

Tuesday, December 1, 2009

Day 1 of my 25 days of christmas countdown.

Today's Thought: Keep this season simple. Don't try to make it perfect, but just try to have fun with others along the way.

Winter

Winter is commonly associated with death. I have always thought this was a mistake. Death is a permanent thing, winter is not. I personally like winter, and don't understand why a lot of people don't like it. Here I'm going to give my take on winter.

Winter is a peaceful time where everything turns a kind of grey. Now most people hate it, but I like it because it's such a reflective time. I find all the time to think about previous events of the year, and relive times I liked. This time is important to all humans as we need our pasts to live in the present. If we didn't ever reflect on our experiences we would never have any depth in out lives, and would be just as shallow and inexperienced as toddlers. We also find joy in our day to day lives that we will remember for longer than we would expect.

Winter is not just a time for reflection, but also a time for rest. We humans need rest just as we have to work. If we didn't have times of rest we would become weak, hostile, and our day to day lives would become so distorted and weird that we would turn on those we care about in a desperate attempt for the rest we crave.

If nothing else then winter is just a time when you don't have to mow the lawn.

Hope you all have a happy and peaceful winter.

This blog post is about something, but I havn't figured it out yet.

My mom told me to put something up, but I don't have much to say.
I had the flu, and now I'm recovering from walking Pneumonia. We are kinda lazy today as we haven't gotten any real prepping for thanksgiving today. I am wasting valuable time I could be using for writing for putting this blog post up.

I don't know what to say, and i have no real reason to post, but i'll pull this out yet. Ok have any of you seen the Avatar trailers? They kinda look cool. I'm getting sick of watching toy story. Cars, and George of the jungle. I have a sore throat.

I'm looking forward to making pumpkin pies tomorrow. I always enjoy making them, and this year we got canned pumpkin so it will be easier. We are going to watch the last episode of V tonight. Looks like a great series to me.

How long is this going to go on? I can't think of any reason people will read this much less comment on this mindless post. oh well. *hits Publish*

How to rapid thaw a turkey

This method is something we have been perfecting over the past few weeks, and I must say that it has turned out to be a success.

First you take your frozen turkey, and you put it in the oven the NIGHT BEFORE thanksgiving. then you set the temp to 150-200. Most oven label this Warm, so set it there. Leave it overnight to thaw.

In the morning set the turkey out at 350 and your ready to go. This method has proven to be the best we've come up with, and the least messy. I hope this helps those who have trouble thawing that bird for thanksgiving.

Flu

Sorry I've been gone a long time I had the flu, and I was sick for over a week. I will get back to posting now.

As for the music video thing. I need more time to work on it. I'm tired and run down so I'm not working on it right now.

It's all fun and games till someone blows up the kitchen

That's right it's Monday, and I'm going to pick on professional music videos. For Monday I'm picking out the oddities and flaws of two Lifehouse vids.

Starting with Breathing:

Needless to say it is very odd, but there is more than meets the eye here.
First I would like to point out that the chances that about 10 people on the same block doing different things and singing same song as this man here are something like 12000 to 1; don't even bring up the fact that they are singing in sync. second they are all singing in the same voice. now with the guys that's ok, but the women too?

That's not all you see in the video that he is singing with these same people on a rooftop at night. My only guess is that they all got together after seeing him singing that song and decided to have a party on the roof, but there is a small problem with that.... the lead singer is caught in a time loop.
That's about the only explanation for why he spots himself walk in the opposite direction, and I might add that he walks by another woman that sings in his exact voice. You will notice that he hops back into the same car at the end of the video.

All in all the video makes no sense, but it get's you wondering. Mostly about how he found this town with the weird people and the time loop.
I rate this video 4/10 good quality in the video, but the video dosn't make sense so it really dosn't work.

BUT THERE'S MORE!

That's right Lifehouse: Whatever it takes.
embedding disabled by request.

Now this one is insane. Symbolic, but crazy. first you notice his bedroom explode, but in near zero-G. I don't know where this guy finds these places, but I kinda think he must have bad luck. Anyway, there is a bit of a technical flaw with this one here. when the pictures blow up you actually see the explosives. poor execution by the director and crew there. Another thing that doesn't make sense is his room full of lamps; if anyone knows what's up with them pleas tell me.

This is where the video get's weird. the kitchen items blow up everywhere. Again a technical flaw as you can see the explosives in various places, and the milk explodes four times. Oddly despite blowing up everything in his bedroom and kitchen the repair themselves.

I can't say I cared for this one. it was trying to be symbolic, but failed miserably, and wound up with several technical flaws. 2/10

tune in tomorrow for: Newsboys!

Hard day in writington

I have had struggles writing today, but I finally hit that 1,000 mark that I try for daily. I'm starting to think I'm driving myself crazy with it though.

Jacob, and William are both filling out their roles nicely. I am going to get that garage aranged so that I can sell our sectional. I also am trying to get my laptop fixed soon. It's a $10 fix, but I ned to get the part still :P

Am I ranting yet? great! now I must say I have been running into the Problem of Buddy trying to remove my charger to the lapto, and the battery is old so it's not a good situation.

I am planning on doing a crazy christain music video week starting monday and ending friday. I will do one or two christain music videos that I think is odd, and I will do a commentary on it.

this is a blog post

Emotions ran high yesterday, and little into today. Last night our modem died, and there was little we could do about it. Luckily this morning it decided it liked us after all, and came back to life.

Today was a total flop though in my efforts not to tick anyone else off. I have made almost every person in this house mad at me at some point.

Believe it or not, but I exceeded my goal for the day. I hit over 1500 words and still counting. I am really into this novel, and I hope to have it basically completed by February. I know a lot of others out there can hit higher word counts, but I'm pleased with myself nonetheless.

So how has your day gone?

Monday, October 26, 2009

Ok, I'm blogging you already!!!!

Ok i have been listening to new music lately. One funny guy I have come across is Parry Gripp. But this one song is just stuck in my head.

I'm now going to torment you all with this song.

Running around like a maniac

, and accomplishing nothing. Yesterday I watched the cowboys trash the falcons, I walked my baby brother up and down our street, and edited my book. I spent my evening thinking I really hate editing, and to be honest it kinda killed my enthusiasm for this story.

I'm back to writing today, and I will continue to go at my usual pace (1,000 words a day) I need to get to bed earlier, so i write better. Today I get back to school, and I have to make sure I don't make my family crazy with my writing.

Ok I need to go, I just wanted to vent a little.

How do you steal a van with flat tires and no transmission?

I don't know, but someone stole our 95 caravan that had been broken down out in our back field. we now have only our 93 Bonneville to rely upon, and it only has three working seat belts.

In other news I've been down with either a cold or bronchitis, but either way I'm sick and feeling icky. others around me seem to have come down with a cold, though not as bad. We are GOING to move those last two bookshelves if it's the last thing I do. not that everyone else agrees, but I'm trying to convince someone.
On other updates I'm going freebie crazy, I've been trying lockerz, club bing, and Swagbucks. the last of which i request the at you sign up by clicking that little swagbucks banner to the side. With any luck I'll be able to get some people some decent gifts this year. although to be perfectly honest I'm not holding my breath.

I'll post more if i think of it.

so you are caught on another planet......

What do you do?

The conditions: red planet kinda like mars.
with frozen water deposits, and average temperature -40f
What you have: A shuttle with no engine. a half full fuel supply. a damaged and weak radio antenna. enough oxygen to last you under normal conditions up to 30 weeks. repair tools, but some are multi-man tools, and you are the only one alive.

Time to survive 20 weeks (or you run out of fuel)
try to be creative with the explinations.
if you read this tag 5 other people with it.

things got better

Well  things actually had a turn for the better. I sold the Vac, but I failed to go and get the computer due to time. My mom is getting over her hip injury. The Pack lost today, but Jimmy Johnson is second in points so I guess it was made up for.

Have a great day.

Saturday, September 19, 2009

Well I'm off to a terrible start today

My dad woke me up this morning asking me to find the cane i used not to long ago for my injured leg. turns out that my mom pinched a nerve in her hip so that she can't even walk. My day has been made so much better by learning that the guy i'm TRYING to sell my wireless card to tried to get a hold of me during the five hours of time that I DIDN'T have the computer.

Later I have to sell a vacuum to someone, and then head out to look at some computers. I really want a computer though, so this isn't the end of the world. I'm also now that my mom is injured the one in charge of moving our four bookshelf library to anther room. It was my idea so I guess it's only fair.

On some positive notes my sister has been up to help with Buddy, and my second chapter is coming along nicely.

I hope you all have a better day than I've had.

In Dark Futures

AZ just sat there in the dark his body engulfed in shadows. No man could, or would come get him before dawn. He always kept to himself at night, and though he never slept he preferred not to be disturbed. Many people were laying silently in their beds tonight sleeping as if this was their last sleep. In the morning he'd get them all up, and they'd face the day. the younger ones would complain while the older ones work themselves to the ground. Yes he knew his people well, and all of their short-comings.

AZ looked down at his hands, the hands that he always wore gloves over. He did it not to protect them, but for the sake of others who couldn't handle who he was. He just glared at those large metal hands. He still remembered the day that he got those, and so many other cybernetic implants. Since that day he never got any more sleep.

He snapped upright, and then just stood there. He heard gunshots. He opened the door to find a small boy sleeping in the doorway, so he carefully stepped over the bay and then sprinted for the stairs. He looked down the thirty some-odd flights of stairs, then jumped. Many who never knew who or what he was would have thought this suicidal, but for him it was normal. He felt the rush of air around him as he fell, and then landed safely several stories below. He scanned his surroundings and continued running on what he was pretty sure the 34th floor, but his sense of direction had never been the best, so he could be sure.

He continued running until he found an old elevator shaft. the cars had long since been ruined, but he could still jump down. again he felt the rush of air before he landed. And this time he cam out on the first floor. Even though a gunshot was a big thing here nothing prepared him for what he saw now. There were several nurses and doctors running around, far from their normal room just upstairs. He scanned the room and saw that two younger teen were badly wounded, and a couple of his better men were mildly wounded. AZ found one of the doctors.

"What happened?" AZ asked with a bit of a mechanical growl to his voice.
"I don't exactly know, I tried asking one of the boys but they don't seem able to answer." The blond haired doctor replied. Brushing the man aside AZ went after another man who was long on a cot with his arm in a sling.
"Do you know what happened?" AZ asked him.
"Sorta, why." The man replied then looked up at him. "Oh sorry I thought you were someone else sir." He looked embarrassed.
"Alright," AZ Pulled up a chair and sat down "can you tell me what happened?"
"Well two of 'them boys back there were startin' to get restless, so I rotated them out with the boys outside who were startin' to get tired. You know normal rotation." The man said. AZ nodded, so the man continued. "Well those two boy musta done somethin' awful because not ten minutes later I see them tanglin' with a Scavenger.

AZ shuddered. Scavengers were robots, and they were usually calm and ignored human presence, but if you interfered with them collecting whatever it was they were after they would never hesitate to tear you to shreds. They were usually peaceful though, so an attack had to of been provoked somehow. He had to get these boys under control somehow. He got up and tip-toed carefully through the crazed room. People around him were still shouting names and numbers. He hated big medical issues.

He found the lead doctor. "Hey! you!" He called. The doctor was busy shouting stuff and writing on his clipboard, but he looked up, and saw AZ waving so he hurried over to him.
"Yes." The doctor said, then mentioned something to a nurse passing by.
"Why are they down here on the first floor?" AZ asked.
"We can't get them upstairs safely; as you can see the stairs are damaged and in need of repairs." the doctor replied. AZ looked around the corner at the stairs and saw that they were rotted.
"Well we have to do something, You want me and the boys to get a chain and pulley system running, and we'll just lift them to the third story?" AZ asked.
"Sounds like one of your better plans, but can you do it without hurting them? their injuries are... uh quite severe." He said the last part with a little hesitation.
"I'll do my best you just get these nurses into position and we'll go get the old pulley out." AZ said, and ran off without waiting for a response. He knew what he would have to do.

He ran two rooms to the left of the chaos, and found him self in a storage room. The place was grubby like anything on the first floor, but he knew exactly what he was going for. He grabbed the best looking pulley, and walked across the room for the chains. He saw some hanging on the walls, but none that were large enough. AZ grabbed a large chain off the floor. One last thing he needed, Super-humans. not that they were hard to find. you could always find someone with super powers, but finding the right one was very hard.

Walking out into the chaos he could see mostly doctors and guards, some of those could be superhuman. He scanned the room, he usually could tell who had the right powers. from his analysis there were two fire powered kids, and an older guy with ice powers. He never knew why he could tell, he just figured it was part of what happened to him. He looked at his gloves again, and wondered if he could solo this task. Most likely not as he was clearly designed for killing not helping injured teens up to third story hospitals. He ran up the old stairs and up onto 4th floor. this was the first floor for inhabitants, usually for the first floor guards though.

"Attention everyone, I need a super-human!" He yelled. Three heads popped out. None of them looked tough, but as he knew so well looks meant nothing. "What can you guys do?" He asked them.
"I can shoot electricity." One guy said.
"I can manipulate sound." Another added. The last guy hesitated as if embarrassed, then suddenly his arms and legs started popping out of joint, and his skin turned gray and lumpy, finally he was a giant rock monster of some sort.
"I can turn into rocks" he said in a gravely voice. AZ pointed at him, and the guy came along with him. they other two went back into their rooms. "Name is Carl Powers" He said. AZ grinned at the name. the few times somebody had an appropriate name it was funny to him.
"Look we got a couple injured, and we need to get them to the third floor. Problem is the stairs are rotting." AZ said simply. "So I'm setting up a chain in pulley system for them I need you to pull them up." AZ finished. Carl nodded, and started making his way downstairs. AZ turned to an empty room, and opened the window.

He took off he gloves to reveal his hands, but they looked more like claws at the moment. He gripped the bricks with his left hand and just hung there, and with his right hand he reached for the pulley. He sat it against the wall, but realized he made a mistake; he needed a drill to screw it in place. AZ grunted and swung him self inside. He was startled to see a man sleeping on the wall. He seemed to be peaceful there sticking against it as if he were a bug. AZ looked him over, then barked.
"Why didn't you report!?"
That made the man freak out; first he fell off the wall, then scrambled across the floor to get up.
"Uh, sir?" He said blinking rapidly.
"I just called for all super humans to report, and you didn't." AZ said.
The man stared at him for a minute without comprehension. then he spoke up.
"Sir I'm partially deaf, you'll have to speak up." He said. AZ suddenly relaxed.
"I need your help." AZ yelled. The man pulled something off his desk, a hearing aid, and placed it on his ear.
"Sorry, I didn't think you were gonna barge in. What do ya need?" He said.
"I need you to install a pulley just outside you window, we are trying to haul some guys up to the hospital, but our stairs collapsed." AZ said while tossing him the pulley. "I'll go get the tools."

_....._

AZ was standing out in the dirt, the sun was just rising up over the ridge. He still hadn't managed to get those young men up in the windows. His team had been struggling with the board tilting and flipping all night long. AZ wiped his brow as he fastened the chains once more. this man wasn't injured at all, but he volunteered to go, so that the didn't drop anyone on their heads, again. They were now doing what they should have done all along, or at least AZ hoped. They had four small chains latched to the board and they all led to the large chain strapped to the pulley.

Carl grabbed the chain and started pulling again. he saw everyone standing around. They had made so much noise over the last few hours with pulleys falling out of walls, and chains snapping, and having really bad configurations that they had woken almost everyone in the building. Carl continued to pull without difficulty. The board reached the top and the man slid into the window. AZ smiled and everyone else cheered, but AZ knew they needed to find some boards to fix the busted stairs. AZ patted Carl on the back as they lowered the board, and walked back inside. The injured were mostly patched up, so everything was fairly calm. AZ went to the downstairs cafeteria for his breakfast. This room like the hospital was one of the few rooms on the lower levels that wasn't dirty and grimy. He went to the neighboring wash room.
Not many people went for their meals yet, but he usually preferred to eat alone anyway. He washed the dirt off his hands and face, and walked back out.

The golden light was shining through the window. He loved the morning, and how people were usually in a better frame of mind this time of day. He got himself the usual toasted bread, and butter. The day was going to be long, and dangerous. they had to go get more ammunition from The Warriors. He never liked dealing with them because they held a monopoly on the weapons and ammo for the city. they lived in a gutted out building to the north. He looked up to see the guy who stuck to walls walk over to him. The man sat down a the other end of the table, and started reading a book while eating his toast. the book looked beat up with the cover missing; A lot of books looked like that mostly because they were one of the few things people could carry with them to their work sites, and they tended to get worn out.

"What's your name?" The guy asked suddenly.
"AZ." AZ replied.
"No, what's your real name?" He asked now looking up from the book. AZ's eyes darted around. He was feeling very uncomfortable; He knew this man had a right to be curious, but it still made him feel uncomfortable.
"My name isn't so much a name as it is a number." He said finally. "I'm AZ2-R12" he said while lifting his left arm to show a tattoo with the number on it.
"Oh." The other guy said simply.
"What's your name?" AZ asked.
"Zack, I have no last name." He said. AZ nodded, it wasn't uncommon to find someone without a last name. most cases were that his parents died when he was young, and he was raised by someone else, and so he never knew his last name. AZ finished his toast, and left left the table; a lot of work to do, and he had till sundown to do it.
