The suicide generation.

We humans have a tendency to want something we can’t get. Over the past few generation that has been eternal youth, and the dream of making that happen. Generations before it was infinite wisdom that comes with age.

Now people think that the younger you are the more wisdom you will have, and that wisdom is just lost with age. If that bit of absurdity was not enough I have been noticing a disturbing trend. The Desire for eternal youth has become more of a morbid desire to die before we grow old.

It was the natural evolution of this lifestyle. Once people finally realize that eternal life is impossible here on this planet, then they realize that their desire to never grow old can only be filled one way: to die before you get to fifty.
This sick and twisted logic is one of those things that you would think is a freak case, but I am noticing it to be a growing, and increasingly disturbing trend. It is only a matter of time before this becomes truly a popular philosophy.

We as Christians need to help these people realize the truth before it is too late, and to realize that growing old is not all bad. If our lives are cut off at fifty then we will never experience everything we were meant to experience. I don’t know exactly how to combat this sickness, but I do know that we as Christians need to pray for these lost souls, and try to lead them to the light in every way we can.
